Impressions US Cavalry trooper and blanks for carbine

Howdy,

I am a reenactor from Sweden, Europe doing a US Cavalry trooper impression. Managed to obtain an original Starr carbine for this, and was wondering how fellow cavalrymen across the pond make their blanks for their civil war carbines. Used mine as a muzzleloader during our last reenactment and it works, but sure does not look and feel right... Any info is highly appreciated. Thank you.

The Starr used a rolled linen cartrige, so given the materials you could produce your own I guess.

$45 bucks seems a bit steep, but nitrated paper in the place of linen could be a good substitute.
