From the Richmond Dispatch, 7/10/1862, p. 1, c. 6
Central Railroad. – The tressel work, spanning a creek on this road a mile beyond the Chickahominy bridge, was pulled down and burnt by the Yankees, but is being replaced as fast as circumstances will permit. The enemy, during their occupation of Hanover, pulled down and burnt the tressel work a mile beyond and a mile this side of the Courthouse, and removed the sills of a mile or two of the track, though not all in one place. The large engine that was overturned near the Depot a few days since, was still, as late as yesterday, in a recumbent posture, though efforts were being made for its extrication.
