I know this is two threads in one day, but I found another picture too cool not to share with y'all.

Union troops entering a town is the only information given. You can see the men marching in the street in the background, and all of the civilians watching in the foreground. The motley set of clothing from the civilians I find very interesting.

The commotion!

Sign of the times! First Manassas/Bull Run had picnic crowds. Your town is quiet one day then armies marching through and fighting the next. Talk about uncertainty.
