This is a really great image, well done! One suggestion, if I may be so bold, the dividing line between the mustache/beard and skin tones is very harsh. I think it would be better if the two blended more on the border rather than just an abrupt transition.

Ahhhhhh yup, absolutly correct, just realized that I had missed that Will fix and repost Thats a perfect example of looking at an image a thousand times and not seeing whats right in front of you lol
Could the Soldier's name have been Lincoln as well ? 13 men named Abraham Lincoln served in the Union army !
One A.L. served in the 1st Squadron Cherokee Mounted Volunteers, C.S.A.
Did a quick fix on the hair, the boundary line between skin and hair has always been a pain for me lol Zuzah and CivilWarinColor makes it look way to easy

That looks fantastic. I try not to be too critical of others work, but I know that you have done great stuff and this was an easy fix to bump it up to that level.

The trick is to put lots and lots of skin color in the hair and beard line, and then remove to taste - I always leave something like 40% skin color in the hair with a desaturated hair color. Low hardness brush does absolute wonders for edges!
