Anyone interested in the uniforms worn by Irish units might find this book of interest. The book cover shows Confederate Irish units.

A few Irish regiments seem to get most of the attention. Many of the Union and Confederate Irish units seems to have worn standard uniforms.

Emerald Guards, 8th Alabama Infantry marched off to war in green uniforms but switched to gray jackets trimmed with green when they reached Virginia.
