Uniform I’D help

I believe this to be a chasseur style uniform, but does anyone know what unit it may belong too ? The photo is all I have as far as info.

Appears to be a union corporal in a jacket. the stripe near his cuffs are "veteran volunteer" stripes, worn by men who have completed one enlistment, and have reenlisted, as a "badge of honorable distinction."

From some regimental histories, the following explain:

Here's some similarly dressed Yanks with the veteran service-chevron on their jackets.

The stripe was the same color as the uniform branch trimming, light or sky blue for infantry, with 1/8 inch red edging, etc. Here's an original from the "Horse Soldier of Gettysburg" website:

He may be wearing what is sometimes referred to as a "veteran jacket". The way this worked was when a soldier reenlisted after thier original enlistment they recieved a bonus and a furlough. Some soldiers wanted to look good during their furlough so used part of their reenlistment bonus to obtain a private purchash jacket. Some wanted to look 'different' from a normal soldier and opted to wear these nine button jackets which were considered more stylish.

The soldier could have a tailor make him what ever jacket the soldier wanted so there were wide verities in style. This brought up the problem of modern uniform buffs trying to categorize these jackets. I have read an article that summarizes these 'veteran jackets' and one of the common styles was the low collar nine button jacket with veteran stripes on the sleeve cuffs.
