Uniform Help

Can anyone help me with identifying these guys? I assume the I on the belt is for infantry..Im completely in the dark here!

That hats don't look like kepis. The belt seems to have a number 1 on it. The guy on the right seems to have what was sometimes referred to as a "fireman's shirt". I know they are usually pictured with their fire helmets on, but I wonder if they are volunteer fireman? Just a guess.

Are they soldiers? It does not look like an issue belt or boots even. Those caps do not look like issue kepis.

Those jackets that they are holding do seem to be those thick jackets worn by firemen though.
 
These are very likely firemen. The belt is typically an item for foremen and they are wearing 'firemen' shirts. The jackets they hold, their trousers, and their caps may all be water resistant.
 
I just wanted to make **** sure they weren't Civil War!! With my luck, I figured they'd be Transylvanian tax collectors! Thanks again!! Good to be on the board! :smile:
