unexpected find in NC

While going to a job last month i happened upon this plaque, i was very surprised since i never even knew Jackson had been in the area. this is located outside Stanley NC on old plank rd. It is where

Jackson married his 2nd wife, at her parents home.

you welcome... like i said i had no idea. My wife was with me and she said she saw a sign about stonewall jackson. I said she must have eye problems because to my knowlegde Stonewall had never been to NC. Needless to say i felt stupid when we turned around and visited the site

Yep.

The site of that marker is where Anna Morrison grew up as well as married Jackson (as you mentioned) which is actually in Lincoln County, NC. I live in Gaston County and just about 8 miles from there. It's pretty cool. Her father Rev. Robert Hall Morrison was one of the Founders of Davidson College and was the first President of the school, just north of Charlotte.

Location of the marker is SR 1511 (Old Plank Road) which is east of Lincolnton.
