Trivia Game Changes - Important PLEASE READ!

Hi Trivia Players!

Mike, hoosier and myself have decided to make some changes to the trivia game. We have questions that have been submitted that are unusable in some way shape or form. And because of this players are becoming frustrated, and not playing at all. And that just isn't fun. We also have a lot less submissions recently, and most questions come from the same handful of members.

Changes take effect as of November 2, 2020 - rules will be changed shortly to reflect changes.

1) Only 3 questions will be offered each week - M-W-F

1a. bonuses will be offered the trivia day that falls before holidays or special occasions​

2) Trivia questions will be closed only on M-W-F

2a. Monday trivia questions will be closed on Wednesday, Wednesday questions will be closed on Friday, Friday questions will be closed on Monday​

3) Trivia Games will be bi-monthy. There will be approximately 24 questions each game.

3a. example the new game will start on 11/2/2020 and End 12/31/2020​

4) I will still do my best to schedule trivia questions for 7:30am EST

5) Trivia questions may be closed later than 7:30am EST (but should be answered by 7:30 in case I do close it at that time)

The Same:

• Standard Trivia Questions have a value of 10 points. Bonus Questions have a value of 10 points
• Riddles are welcomed as trivia questions. However, riddles can be vague by nature, and generally only have one correct answer. You should try to post a source with your answer. If you do not, and your answer is different than the official posted answer, your answer may be marked as incorrect.
• Links should accompany your answer, not BE your answer. If you only give a link as your answer your post will not be scored.
• Players may use any resource to find the correct answer to a question, including sources on the internet.
• Players can submit Trivia Answers by posting a reply to the thread, all answers will be sent to the moderation queue.
• Players are discouraged from sharing answers with each other.
• DO NOT POST ANSWERS ANYWHERE BUT IN THIS FORUM! Do not post answers on Facebook, Twitter, our chat room, or anywhere else. Players caught posting answers to questions may be banned from the game.
• The Trivia Master and his assistant will attempt to score all answers as fairly as they can. Please contact Mike (CivilWarTalk) if you have any Trivia Game comments of questions.
• ami will not reply to any complaints about the trivia game.
• Do not complain to the question provider. We encourge and private conversation complains be reported using the report button.
• Trivia questions will be provided by members, credit for the question will be given to the question creator in the question thread.
• The question provider will be given the same number of points as correct answers.
• Questions calling for multi-part answers are acceptable, but we're going to institute a limit of six on the number of parts.

I understand the need for these changes and support them fully.
However, I must admit that for me, the daily (MTWTHF) questions have been a highly anticipated feature of our site, one that I will sorely miss. They cause me to think and research areas of the Civil War that I am not familiar with, greatly adding to my knowledge and appreciation. I hope sometime in the future conditions will permit a return to the more frequent schedule.

I want to thank you for shortening the trivia game by taking off a couple of questions for the week. I was spending way too much time looking for the answers and neglecting "things" that needed to be done elsewhere. Show's you how much control that I have over my will power.
