According to my records, both Rad2duhbone53 and ewc have achieved a perfect score of 36 points in a past game, so both are eligible to earn promotion to the First Division by answering all five questions correctly this week.

Here are the questions for Week 6, the final week of Game # 45:

Congratulations to ewc, the only player to complete Game # 45 with a perfect score of 36 points. Ewc is the winner of the Second Division and has earned promotion to the First Division after having achieved a perfect score for a second time.

Congratulations also to SamGrant and Sarladaise, co-winners of the First Division, each of whom had only one incorrect answer over the past six weeks. There should be some stiff competition in the First Division next time around.

Here are the answers to the questions for Week 6:

26. I was a little asleep at the switch when I composed this question. My source was focused on the Confederate side, so it listed Lewis Armistead as the only correct answer. (Though he was transported from the spot and did not die until later, a monument in the area of the Angle at Gettysburg marks the spot where Armistead fell.)

What I should have done was asked, "What Confederate general…" However, since my question just asked for a general, that opened it up to the Union side as well.

There is most definitely a monument commemorating John Reynolds at the spot where he fell on July 1.

The monument to the First Vermont Cavalry, located on the southern end of the battlefield, states that it was led by Farnsworth and that he fell at that location on July 3. Although the monument is not specifically dedicated to Farnsworth, I consider the fact that it mentions his name as sufficient justification for saying it "commemorates" him, so I am also accepting Farnsworth as a correct answer. Although some Gettysburg historians believe that Farnsworth actually fell some distance away, it's obvious that the intent was to place the monument at the spot where he fell.

27. John B. Gordon was named U.S. Senator in 1872 and elected Governor of Georgia in 1886.

28. Louisa May Alcott. The book, entitled "Hospital Sketches," was written in 1863.

29. Knoxville was occupied by Burnside's Army of the Ohio on Sept. 2, 1863. Because of eastern Tennessee's strong Union sentiment, Lincoln had been eager since the beginning of the war to gain control of the city. (The Confederates still controlled Chattanooga on that date. Braxton Bragg did not evacuate Chattanooga until Sept. 8.)

30. Lancaster, owner of the yacht Deerhound, rescued Capt. Raphael Semmes and other members of the CSS Alabama's crew after she was sunk by the USS Kearsarge off Cherbourg, France.
