18- For various political misdeeds, Union Secretary of War Simon Cameron was banished to political exile in Moscow as US Minister to Russia- almost as far as Mr Lincoln could send him, however it was to a staunch Union Ally;

19- Stonewall Jackson's topographical officer- Jedediah Hotchkiss. 'Ol Blue Light' was he!! on his subordinate commanders, but had a gift for choosing his staff;

20- Natural Bridge Park commemorates a battle fought in March, '65 in which a motley assemlage of Rebels kept Union Army and Navy forces out of Tallahassee, Florida. Thank the Lord the War soon ended and finally stopped the danged Rebs from always doing this sort of thing!!

16. Leonidas Polk was killed at Pine Mountain.

17. Brandy Station, Virginia, where approximately 20,000 Union and Confederate horsemen were engaged, was the largest cavalry battle in the history of the Western Hemisphere.

18. Former PA Senator Simon Cameron, who resigned as Secretary of War on Jan. 11, 1862 under accusations of corruption in the War Department, was nominated by Lincoln shortly thereafter to be Minister to Russia.

19. Jackson's chief mapmaker was Jedediah Hotchkiss. Hotchkiss' excellent map of the Shenandoah Valley was a great help to Jackson in his Valley Campaign.

20. Natural Bridge Historic Site in Florida commemorates the Battle of Natural Bridge, fought in March 1865 to defend Tallahassee. There is a Natural Bridge in Virginia – beautiful place, I've been there – and it is somewhat historic, because George Washington carved his initials in the rocks down below, but it's not real close to Richmond and there was no Civil War battle fought at that particular site.
