13 players this week, the most we've had in quite a while.

Here are the answers to the questions for Week 2.

6. The Battle of Tom's Brook was also known as the Woodstock Races.

7. Randall wrote the lyrics to "Maryland, My Maryland."

8.. Jefferson Davis gave Sally Tompkins, administrator of Robertson Hospital in Richmond, the rank of captain and command of the hospital to ensure her tenure. She accepted on the condition that she would not allow her name to be placed on the payroll of the army.

9. John Quincy Adams was the father of Charles Francis Adams, U.S. Minister to Great Britain from 1861 to 1868. (John Adams was Charles Adams' grandfather.) I found this answer out during my vacation, when I visited Adams National Park in Quincy, MA, which includes a tour of the birthplaces of both John and John Quincy Adams, as well as the estate that subsequently served as a "summer White House" when both were President. Very informative presentations at all three sites, well worth a visit for those who are interested in American history from the time before the Civil War.

10. James Shields, who during his political career served as Senator from Illinois and Minnesota, once challenged Lincoln over a newspaper article the latter had written. (The duel never came off.)
