15. (Two point question) What lieutenant of the 24th Wisconsin Infantry received the Congressional Medal of Honor for seizing the colors of the regiment after three color-bearers had been killed and planting them on the captured works on the crest of Missionary Ridge? Welcome to our newest player, Robert B. Condon, who seems to have figured out how to do what no one else on the board has been able to do, i.e., post using a name that contains capital letters.

A belated welcome also to SamGrant, who joined the game last week.

Here are the answers to the questions for Week 3.

11. William L. was nicknamed "Mudwall" to distinguish him from the famous Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson.

12. Sheridan's favorite horse was Rienzi, a name Sheridan later changed to Winchester. After the horse died in 1878, he was mounted by a taxidermist. He can be found today in the Hall of Armed Forces History at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.

13. This was the trouble question of the week. The only answer that my source indicates is correct is that the strategic importance of Wytheville relates to the fact that there were lead mines there, the source of the raw material with which to make bullets. If those of you who provided other answers have sources for those answers, I will give you credit if you post your sources by 6 PM EDT Monday.

14. The Shawnees were not one of the Five Civilized Tribes. The Seminoles were.

15. Arthur MacArthur Jr., 18 years old at the time of the battle, received the Medal of Honor for his actions at Missionary Ridge. He was the father of Douglas MacArthur.
