Trimmed rebel jacjets

Hey fellas, I have a few RDII jackets that are laying around, and plan on adding more to my collection. Recently I saw a nice trimmed example from the 64th Virginia Infantry, and wanted to replicates it with worsted wool tape and whip-stitching. Before I do though, I'd love to see some examples that y'all may have done, or real life examples of trimmed and modified RDII's and III's.

Allen Redwoods red trimmed RDIII is one of my favorite real life examples, but I don't know how to trim the collar. 🤔

Unlike the worsted tape trim of the above, the jacket of Lt. G.P. Bryan of the 2nd NC Cavalry has yellow cord trim applied...
