I just received my first Trailhead Graphics map in the mail today. I purchased one from Amazon for my trip to the Shiloh National Military Park on July 21st. This map is sheer genius! This map contains the location for every monument, marker and tablet surrounding this park. It also displays Civil War era farm roads and farm fields. A great resource for the buff or novice.

I'll agree that they are a first class product and that a great deal of work went into them, I just wish that I had spent a little more time on my field navigation skills.

I am acquainted with Tim K. who owns Trailhead Graphics, and does much if not all of the legwork in producing such fine maps. His work is exact and meticulous, and his maps are worthy of the praise they get. I have more than a few of his maps, and they are more than worth it. He is actually a member here at CWT, but doesn't post much, which is a shame because he would really enhance our conversations here.

One of our members, Tim, is an owner of the company. I can't say enough good things about them. 8th graders can't destroy them, as we proved in 2009 when we used it to make our relief map of Gettysburg. Rain-resistant, tear resistant, beautifully detailed....you name it. I just wish I could use one on a battlefield!

I'll bring my Gettysburg one when you come up.

I heard that a Vicksburg map is in the making, don't know when though. Also, if you didn't know, the numbers by all those dots on the map correspond with the numbers on the back of the tablets. When I take pics while walking through the woods at Shiloh, I'll also take a pic of the number on the back of the tablets so I can give a description of the photos later.

That's great news about a Vicksburg map in the making. Can't wait to see it.

Thanks for the helpful tip when taking photos.
