As a former member of the N-SSA (1st Tenn co. H) I remember that to be in the org,you needed only a musket. Now that I'm heading back to rejoining the N-SSA and do not wish to be OVERLOADED w/weapons. I used to shoot about everything Musket, carbine and Pistol weather it was paper punchn or Teams. Just don't have the time anymore to do all that,so I'm going to shoot strictly Team events in
Musket. Now here lays my question- rules state you must have a MUSKET. Does that mean,if a person
should so wishes to you can use a smoothie or must it be a Rifled Musket?

Granted my last nats was in fall of 97 and rules have changed here & there. But I would like to know the
anwser to this question. My reasoning is that I can shoot Musket Team & Smoothbore team w/one weapon. I don't have a problem in obtaining a Rifled Musket,I'm just trying to keep cost down a bit.
We all know, how shooting supplies has gone up.

wish, I knew the answer, but alas, I am just there to make sure the kids are safe and try not to rip my hair out while Mike is shooting! LOL

if no one else can answer, Mike should be back on sometime tonight, but he will be out of the office all day.

will you be going to Nationals next week? maybe we will bump into you?!

Sorry to say,I will not be @ the Spring Nats this year. As I'm going to be on the road, maybe @ the fall Nats gathering up gear and supplies for my return to
N-SSA comp.

In musket competition, to the best of my knowledge, all muskets must have a rifled barrel, smoothbores now have their own individual and team events. Check with your team to make sure you'll meet any requirements they have, and refer to the approved arms list to make sure you purchase a gun that's allowed in N-SSA competition:
