to make a camera obscura

Ingredients:

dark room, with no light entering except from one small hole​

a double convex glass​

a white screen, or better: a silverized mirror​

Instructions:

The simplest form for constructing this apparatus is to darken a room, permitting no light to enter except by a small hole in the window-shutter. A double convex glass may then be fixed in the hole, and the images of external objects, in their native colors, will be seen on the wall, on a white screen placed so as to receive the light from the opening; but the picture is most distinctly seen when the image is formed on the back of a silverized mirror.​
