Just some helpful tips I found in my local paper on ground herbs and spices.
Ground herbs and spices are best bought in small amounts.
When you open a jar of dried herbs or spices, label it with the month and year.
Regardless of what the expiration date says on the jar, once you open it, check it 6 months later. Do the sniff test and that will let you know if its still good enough to flavor food.
