Tin Plates?

I think these plates are replicas, not historic. Are they of the Civil War Era or some other time period? If they are mid-19th century in general style would soldiers or sailors have had something like this, or just civilians?

Try looking for hallmarks on the bottom of the plates. Identifying the marks will give you a maker and a time frame.

If they´re of the period, they´re civilian usage. Military plates were round. That shape has been in use for 300 years. We have a couple pewter plates like that from the 1830s. They may even be altarware.
