I will give David LeVan credit for one thing: he is persistent and he categorically refuses to take no for an answer.

Having been rebuffed from two prior efforts to place a casino within a stone's throw of the Gettysburg battlefield, this person (edited by Chellers, Moderator) is at it again. Here comes attempt number three.

This, by the way, is the same person that built the huge Harley dealership right next to East Cavalry Field and who is responsible for the hideous nightmare that is Bike Week Gettysburg. As if he hasn't already done enough harm....

Once again, we're going to have to muster the troops to fight this off. I've reached out to my contacts at the Civil War Trust to find out what will be the best means of fighting this, and will report back when I get a response. But be prepared--your help will be needed.

I heard about this this morning on NPR while on my way to work. Shameful.

What a jerk. I helped the CWTrust the second time and I'll do it again when there's an organized effort. Why can't the guy go find some other place for his interests ? Seems like there'd be some little economically-deprived Pennsylvania town that would love to have a casino. Why Gettysburg ?

We're experiencing a similar thing locally with Bimart. They keep wanting to build another super store, keep getting their plan turned down by the agencies that deal with such things, keep appealing, and then start all over at another spot that's just as inappropriate as the first one.

Anyway, thanks for the alert Eric.

The fact that he's responsible for the Bike Week monstrosity is itself reason for him to spend eternity in the Nether Regions. I would support any proposal that sought to ban motorcycles from the Gettysburg National Military Park. Perhaps we can get an environmental impact study on noise pollution caused during Bike Week and get it abolished.

Hollywood Casino is at Penn National Race Course where there's thoroughbred racing now. I don't see a need for a harness track as well.

Ban motorcycles from the battlefield altogether. That's ridiculous! Bike week in Gettysburgh is over the top I agree and I've never attended. Ban bikes in the park? Rediculous.
