Here are 3 photos from our visit to Appomattox in 2018 for "Throwback Thursday". Today is the anniversary of General Lee's surrender.
First photo is of myself on the porch of a log cabin at the Virginia Museum of the Civil war followed by a photo of Confederate Cemetery at Appomattox. Graves are from a skirmish the morning of the surrender. A lone unknown Union soldier is buried with them. Last is a photo of the McClean house where the surrender was signed.

I suspect that's really the Clover Hill Tavern, not the McLean house.
