Through a Spyglass, Darkly...

You're generous. It looks like the third generation of something that's been touched, retouched, sustained water damage, and had a child scribble on it. In fact, the one argument in its favor as far as authenticity goes (as far as I'm concerned) is that a fake would be in better condition...

THats why to me it is suspect... when you read the story of how it was "a photograph of a photograph found at a Yard sale in
Waycross Georgia, and that the original image's location is now unknown, it just seems a little to contrived.. something dont add up.

Alleged photograph of CSS Georgia... looks like that A-Frame keeps popping up everywhere!!! FWIW, this has been debated and debated... I'm not convinced... cause that Ironclad sure looks like a drawing or sketch to me... it just dont look right ya know? According tot he attached, it is a photograph of a photograph found at a yardsale... the original image has since disappeared... seems a little to cconvenientya know?

Well, the compilers of the Archeological Survey and subsequent report seem convinced it's real.

HI guys,
You would not believe what just stumbled upon, the CSS 1861 Norris II, John you might. remenber this one as noticed several of your postings on this site......(Ha Ha.....just kidding!).
WAs viewing a model construction site when came across the Norris design being upgraded into a full 4. gun ironclad for the South.
For those who do not know, the 1861 Norris design was a small 1gun vessel (to be built out of iron) design submitted to the ironclad board the same time as the Monitor, but refused. This design looked a lot like those "A frame on a raft" ironclads drawn in the newspapers.
(really have to read up on how to post a picture from the internet as one would greatly improve this post). Grizz
