This is an old ink IDed CDV of Lt. Charles A. Lawrence of the 7th New Hampshire Infantry
regiment. He was wounded at the battles of Ft. Wagner(Charleston harbor), Bermuda Hundred(Virginia}),
and Petersburg(Virginia). I do not know where on him he was wounded but this CDV was found in the old
personal album which once belonged to Surgeon Charles Russell who in 1864 worked in the
US Officer's Hospital in Fortress Monroe in eastern Virginia. He kept this album
of many of his patients and also some of his fellow doctors and hospital workers.
So evidently Lawrence was wounded seriously enough at least once to be in the army hospital.

He looks modest, does he not? Some of these New Englanders, I think are like that.
