I didn't want to start another thread so I said I would put it here. I keep running into these historic hotels lately. I stayed in Cork City last night and the hotel was frequented by Fredrick Douglas among others. It is where Michael Collins spent the last night of his life.

Nothing planned at the moment unfortunately. No domestic or foreign travels but I'll have to get that sorted soon. I love travelling.

I was browsing through the website of the Thomas F Meagher Foundation. A sword used by Meagher at Fredericksburg was gifted by our Taoiseach (Prime Minister) during an address to a joint session of congress in 2008. It was presented to Ted Kennedy as the representative of the friends of Ireland group on capitol hill.
