I a spectator at a reenactment. As I got out of I car and walked into town the sounds of a contested creek crossing could be heard in the distance. The unspecing town will see a battle at 2 pm. Should I march to the sound of the firing?

If it was a contested river crossing instead, I would have a great view.

Guess I will walk to town and see if the saloon is open.

ICould you tell us where this was happening?
Charlton Park near Hastings, Michigan. Charlton Park is a recreated late 1800s town. They moved 25 period buildings to a nice spot along the Thornapple River. On weekends they have people in costumes giving demonstrations.

Once a year they have a Civil War reenactment there. Besides the town the park had plenty of woods, a creek, and the river. The battles have 60 to 80 on each side plus the usual other reenactors.
