As the 155th anniversary approaches, I thought I would repost Dale Gallon's print of Buford on the McPherson farm. Coming Rain, by Dale Gallon, depicts General Buford and his brigade commanders discussing the coming events with the McPherson Farm in the background exactly 155 years ago today. I will include a photograph I took from a similar POV, though not a perfect match.

I just finished watching the June 30 portion of the Gettysburg movie. I think that the Buford scene pretty accurately depicted what happened in the painting.

Woke up about 6:30 this morning, watched the first half of the movie (well, the first dvd in the set), and I agree that the portion that depicts General Buford's actions is probably the most accurate in the movie. And I thought I spied a view of the McPherson barn behind Buford, albeit from a different angle. Am I right?

I also believe that if Sam Elliott had been present, the Union would've won the battle in about 15 minutes. His awesomeness is an unstoppable force.

I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who lines their viewing of the movie up to match the days being depicted. I watched the 6/30 part last night and am getting ready to watch the 7/1 section.
