In reading Regimental histories, I am coming across the abbreviation 'do' quite often and I am wondering what it stands for. Some soldiers are reported as killed, wounded, missing and then there is this term 'do' which I think indicates the soldier is dead, but it's not DOA, as in Dead on Arrival, which might not make sense in the circumstances anyway, unless they were being transported to a hospital. I would greatly appreciate if someone could clear this up for me. Thank you
