For those of you interested in the southern homefront and in the role of women (both white and enslaved), here's a discussion that's worth a listen. It's from North Carolina public radio and features historians Thavolia Glymph (author of "Out of the House of Bondage") and Laura Edwards (author of "Scarlet Doesn't Live Here Anymmore"). Each historian shares some great stories and excerpts of letters to Gov. Vance. Quite entertaining and informative.
