It's always tough to look at the pictures of huge amounts of dead horses after Gettysburg, just hate the heck out of that one. I grew up with my mother making me leave my barn clothes on the back porch before I was allowed to come into the house- never could figure out why everyone didn't appreciate smelling like a horse, I thought it was better than soap any day. It really is wrenching if you let your head GO there, to how many died horribly, or just got used up.

That's a haunting memorial, never saw that one before, more haunting when something lyrical is written with it- kind of perfect, thanks for the link.
