The Chickamauga Campaign

Came across this book. Due out in June. The Chickamauga Campaign - A Mad Irregular Battle: From the Crossing of Tennessee River Through the First Day, August 22 - September 19, 1863 by David Powell. This sounds like a good one as the only other book on Chickamauga I know of is This Terrible Sound by Peter Cozzens.
Thanks for posting.

I haven't read it yet, but I've heard that Bushwhacking on a Grand Scale: The Battle of Chickamauga, September 18-20, 1863 by Chickamauga Park Ranger William Lee White is suppose to be pretty good, very recent as well.

Bushwacking is a short overall book of the battle with author White really believing that the battle started on the 18th.it is a worthwile addition to ones library

Great news indeed! Our reading group recently discussed Cozzen's book. I was going to re-read more slowly, using Powell's map book on the battle. Will wait now. Maybe the set will make the battle less.......confusing.

I have this book and really enjoy it. Been looking forward to Powell's multi-volume set on Chickamauga as well for some time. So release date is June on that? Bah! I wish it was sooner.
