Well, as one of the grateful winners this past month, for doing not-enough and being recognized regardless, would like to say Thank You to the Food Forum host, Donna.

She has the best follow-through ever, for a cyber contest in non-cyber recognition for her monthly winners! I was lucky enough to receive this in my frigid post box, thought I'd share. A really cute ( unless you're a guy in which case it's probably ' very nice ' ) wooden spoon with this hysterical, charming rubber chicken on top. LOVE it, and thanks very much again, Donna!

Congratulations! The chicken fits right in! Kinda artsy, folksy. A nice touch that goes well with your vintage bowl! How about some chicken recipes... Have read somewhere that in the 1800's fried chicken was a staple at picnics because the coating would help prevent air from hitting the meat thereby retarding spoilage. Anyone have further?? Is this true?? How safe is it as a travelling picnic fare? Are these questions pertinent, or is this just something to squawk about?
