Was just looking at amazon trying to find out if a biography has ever been authored about General Lee's brother Sydney Smith Lee. I know there have been a couple authored about his son Major General Fitzhugh Lee.

Being in the confederate navy, possibly an avenue to search through for information, is a cousin, Samuel Phillips Lee, USN, and his wife Elizabeth Blair Lee, especially. She was living in Maryland or Washington City during the Civil War and kept a diary, plus there seems to be other books by her. I read the diary once. She was not fond of the confederate side of the family, but may offer some insight, writing of her husband. Also the link below:

A simple yes or no?
