I wonder how many times my grandmother Nora Viola Surratt was asked if she was related to John Harrison Surratt whose wife Mary Jenkins Surratt was hanged for her role,or not, in the Lincoln assassination. My understanding is John Harrison Surratt was from Prince George's County, MD. My grandmother was the daughter of William Henry Surratt and Mary Jane "Francis" Liles who married in Cass County,Texas. This website claims that the ancestors of William Henry Surratt go back to Prince George's County, MD.
