Summer Civil War Reading

Hey all,

looking for some help as I put together what books I want to order and try to read this coming summer. Today someone recommended that I read the book Class of 1846. I'm pretty much open to anything. I have been considering a book about A.P. Hill, possibly Porter Alexander's memoirs. Anyways, I am just looking for some general recommendations. I know it's a bit vague but just looking for some ideas.

I've been reading thru Porter Alexander's "Fighting for the Confederacy" and it's a good read, but will take a long time. There is also a good book called "One Continuous Fight" about the retreat from Gettysburg and the battles all across Maryland, with maps and driving tours, that is keeping me engaged, too.

There are 2 books on the retreat worth having. They cover the retreat from 2 different positions. Even Wittenberg considers Kent's book important. So, if the choice is only 1, either are excellent.
