The town of Stuart is the county seat of Patrick County, Virginia. Originally named Taylorsville, the town was renamed Stuart in 1884, in honor of J.E.B. Stuart, who was born nearby.

The courthouse was built in 1822.

It's a pretty town, well worth a visit if you're in the area.
