Sweets/Treats Strawberry Ice Cream

(from The Great Western Cook Book, Or Table Receipts: Adapted to Western Housewifery, by Anna Maria Collins, 1857)

Ingredients:

1 quart strawberries​

1 quart cream​

1/2 lb. sugar​

Instructions:

Mash a quart of strawberries in a quart of cream, add half a pound of sugar, mix well, and freeze them as directed.​
