Storm damage on Little Round Top last evening

Trees blown down on Little Round Top in Gettysburg during last evening's storms. This one fell across the parking area and damaged some cars. Thankfully, no injuries reported with this one coming down.

The line that came across PA and NJ looked pretty wicked. Glad to see no one was hurt. Hopefully there was little to no damage to the monuments.

Residual from the hurricane? A lot of those trees are old. Glad no one got hurt.

Only other report I have seen indicated trees were down by Gettysburg College as well. Have yet to hear anything about any damage to any monuments on the field.

No, these storms came from the west.

Didnt hit us very hard outside of Pittsburgh. Did produce a rare, small F-1 tornado in Mercer county according to the news.

I watched that line of storms come across Pennsylvania from the west. I watched it move through Gettysburg on the earthcam site. It got to us east of Reading at about 8 o'clock; by 8:10, we'd lost power, and didn't get it back until 8 this morning. No major tree damage in my neighborhood, just some branches down, but down closer to Philly, there was more damage. The same sort as it looks like hit Little Round Top.

Anyone closer to Gettysburg able to get a closer look at any damage?

One of the folks I know from FB reported trees down in her yard in South Gettysburg. None of the other folks I know there are reporting any sort of widespread damage. Just alot of limbs down from what they are saying.

I was at my kids softball game when it hit. It came up fast, people running everywhere. Threw the portapot for a loop. Fortunatley no one was in it at the time, lol. Apparently there was alot of wind shear at home cuz it busted up one of the chicken coops. Knocked the tops out of a few trees.

Times like this it's a good idea to take a close look at the tree roots and the earth that was disturbed where they were pulled up...

You always do wonder how the park weathered these storms, than goodness for social media ( and I'm not always a fan.... ). Since Gettysburg, like most of them is lacking resources it must be a blow when storm damage occurs. Or when anything irreplaceable just poof- goes away forever.
