It wasn't the usual all day anniversary programs out at the battlefield as there were no visitors this year, but we filmed a "historic weapons demo" for a couple hours in the rocks at the Slaughter Pen. The park put this short video on facebook on 12/31/20. There is also a short video of the CS program at Hells Half Acre in another post.

Nicely done. I'd once thought of doing something similar w/ live rounds down range but cannot think how such could safely be accomplished away from the environment of a range.

Nor could I, but the National Park Service would be apoplectic at the thought, even if it could be done safely.

IIRC, there's an NPS interpretive marker that quotes someone calling that area "an ankle-twisting death trap." I, for one, would have been captured after spraining my ankle 15 seconds into an attempted retreat.
