I saw that this morning also. An intriguing idea!
@Gary Morgan do you think this would be as spooky as sleeping at Andersonville?
I saw it on my feed this morning, too and was going to post it, but had to dash for an appointment.
Staying overnight next to the stockade at Andersonville isn't really spooky, and I hope to do it again some day (I've spent nights there usually by myself so far); there are just a lot of moments that make me go "Huh. That was weird!" Case in point: the sailor who got me into all this wrote a letter to his daughter describing a brown bird with a yellow back sitting on the rigging of the Housatonic in Charleston Harbor for a couple hours, before taking off, he supposed to visit her in Boston. Every time I've gone to Salisbury, where he was held before going to Andersonville, I've kept my eyes peeled for a yellow backed warbler (did I ever mention having written 3 published books on birds for Barrons?). Never saw one. The last time I was in Andersonville, I was feeling very tired and sick, but I went out to the cemetery to say Good bye to my sailor, Fred James, before flying back to Hartford. I turned around and guess what was sitting on grave marker two rows behind me? Yup. I took a picture, but he was too small and I was too far away to see it in the photo.
It wasn't quite as weird as when my cell phone started ringing when I got near the sight of Fred's "chebang" (how he spelled it in his diary) on an earlier trip, even though the cell phone was turned off at the time. Honest to God, it was completely powered off but it was ringing, and stopped when I turned my head in the general direction of the chebang an said "Good Morning, Fred." But I don't generally like to tell these stories, because I worry that people might think I'm crazy/not take my books seriously because of them.
But these two aren't even the weirdest things that happened....
