Your title reminds me of a sermon I once heard titled "The Buts in our Life". He began by telling the congregation there are three certain concrete facts regarding "the buts"; however he meant the other way to spell "buts" (like you did). They are:
Everyone has one.
No two are alike.
And - we can see everyone's but our own.
It was an interesting sermon and actually one I've not forgotten!
No need to hide from him. He makes for a very large and easy target to hit. No wonder CSA grunts were starving. He ate most the rations before they reached the front.
I tried riding one bareback once, it kept banging sideways into the barn. At first I thought it was just an accident. When he did it a bunch of times I realized he was trying to mash my leg and get me off. He won the argument.
As kids we rode all over bareback, fields and hills even across the river swimming our horses to the other side. falling off was something we knew could happen and on occasion, it did!
