Authentic Spoon Bread

I thought I'd try this recipe for spoon bread. I may even try the "Northern Brown Bread." Both of these are on page 33 from "Blue and Grey Cookery Authentic Recipes from Civil War Years (Hugh and Judy Gowan: Studio 20 Inc., Frederick MD 21707 1980)."
