Sweet Baked Goods Spice Cakes

Ingredients:

2 lbs. sifted flour​
3/4 lb. sugar​
3/4 lb. butter​
1 tbsp. ground spices​
1 tsp. salt​
2 tbsp. yeast​

Instructions:

Two pounds of sifted flour, three-quarters of a pound of sugar, three-quarters of a pound of butter, one tablespoon full of ground spices, one teaspoon full of salt, and two tablespoons full of yeast; mix it to a nice dough with warm milk, cover it, and set it in a warm place for three hours; then roll it thin; cut it in small cakes, and bake ten or twelve minutes in a quick oven. These may be fried as doughnuts.​
