As I posted Spangler Candy Company bought the longtime made Necco and Sweethearts. So thought give some history about the company.

Spangler began on August 26, 1906 when Arthur Spangler purchased the Old Gold Leaf Baking Company. This company made baking soda, baking powder, corn starch, laundry starch, spices and flavorings. He changed name to Spangler Manufacturing Company and started plant in Bryan, Ohio.

By 1920 they were only making candy so name changed to Spangler Candy Company. Aas time went on they acquired many brands of candy. Today their brands include Dum Dums, Candy Canes, Sat t pops, Circus Peanuts, Necco, Sweethearts and canda Mints.

They are still a family owned and run company.
