State to use Old South Mountain Inn to focus on Civil War Battle of South Mountain

The Maryland Park Service hopes to use the historic building to educate visitors about the Civil War Battle of South Mountain.

As a Marylander who has visited this site more than once, I welcome this development. A redevelopment plan deserves long and careful consideration. It's really more than just a Civil War site, as the Appalachian Trail passes nearby and its also a very, very nice scenic area.
