Something a little different

I was inspired to do this by a conversation on the Facebook Naval Wargames page about fictitious ships in movies and novels.
Appropriate to our era is F. Van Wyck Masons "Mississippi" from Proud New Flags.

This also the first time I have tried colouring one of my line drawings. It's not perfect, but I'm quite pleased with the result.

Thank you everyone, very encouraging. I think the real vessel had it been completed would have been painted white, as Cdr McIntosh did Louisiana, but I wasn't sure how it would appear so opted for pale grey.
Andy ,your vent cowls instead of the openings in the roof are a nice touch. These openings were originally proposed to have cross beams on which sharpshooters would stand with only the heads arms and weapons showing. How much they would have seen with a 9" smoothbore being fired 5ft below them is a moot point.
That turned out well. What a monster!
Thank you.
Mason gave her dimensions as 270ft L x 60ft B x 15ft (DPH), as this is very close to the real ship's hull proportions I based the drawing on that. Makes her 290ft OA x 72ft Ex x 14ft D , 4,1765 tons.
He gave his ship 4 -7" MLR pivots and 10 -9" SB broadside, protected by 4" iron over 24 inches of timber.
Propulsion was by 4 engines developing 2,000 HP powering three 11ft propellors. That's why I added the extra 10ft hull length aft.
