When the guns get bigger the book appears smaller.

Top--Model 1842 Harper's Ferry Musket with an early 1843 lock plate date.
U.S. Model 1835 socket bayonet in a regulation Pattern 1839 scabbard.

Bottom--Model 1841 Rifle a.k.a. Mississippi Rifle--Lock date 1848--E. Whitney over U.S.-- New Haven over 1848.
Model 1855 second type brass-hilted saber bayonet and scabbard with Harpers Ferry inspector's mark PB/P for Master Armorer Philip Burkart.
