This is my first image featuring a flag. It was in an oval frame which I switched out with a ornate square one,
so you can now see the flag. It's a little 1/9th image with full case. Fits in well with the others. I may try to purchase a few more with flags. For those who appreciate CW images ... Enjoy!

That is a sweeeeet Image. Blows mine away. Not only with a nice flag but drummer, who is armed at that!!!
Definitely thanks for sharing.
Thanks, although I wouldn't say it blows yours away; your image is excellent with the turned down jacket, dapper bow tie, cocked elbow, canted cap, and loads of attitude in that expression!!

On his flag I see one star that appears separated from the others, perhaps inside a circular pattern of other stars... have you looked at old period flags to see if you can find a match for that pattern of stars on the field...?

Great image, jpro! I think this unusual photo might have the same backdrop:

It's unidentified but there was apparently a sticker ID'ing the photographer: "Robt. T. Knight's Eagle Photograph Gallery, Washington, D.C." http://www.cowanauctions.com/auctions/item.aspx?id=15861

I wonder why he chose to have the photo taken this way? Not exactly Arnold Schwarzenegger, just a scrawny young man. Maybe he wanted to show his mama he had not wounds! Odd, is it not?

I looked and there is a flag that has the original circle of stars and another in the middle but this one seems to have two circles. It might be a cushion made from an older flag, that has a few stars added to it. It looks to me as if it has cording around the outer edge.
I might be this:

or perhaps this:

I'm thinking it's more of a cushion with stars than a flag. Who knows? Still a image I like.
Got another coming with a REAL flag!! Still not as aweome as private Watkins image though!!!

They are all awesome, those pictures of people we never knew, but who fought for what they believed was right. Keep them coming!
