Well, to limber up commonly means to warm up for some form of physical exercise. Now, "how low can you go" does refer to the Limbo which is a sort of dance where one attempts to pass under a pole - without using one's hands for support - that is continually lowered closer to the ground.
 
Is that a real uniform with leather patches, leather rank badges and steam-punk looking boots with side- buckles?
 
Ok who dressed my well fed Grandmother up as a Reb on the right of the photo? Wait she passed over 30 years ago but I'm happy to see she came back to sew patches over the holes of Grizzly Adams pants!
