Hi folks. Here's a skills challenge for you. The attached picture is of a barely visible cartouche on my Colt1860 Army. It is so faint it is hard to see unless its in bright sunlight. I have positively identified the inspector that left his cartouche mark on my gun. The Skills Challenge = can you figure out the inspector? 1st to get it right gets a lot of bragging rights plus an all expenses paid "trip" to my next Forum posting (wow!! how thrilling, eh....)

Tada!!!! You win!! Sharp eye! Do you have one with his cartouche too? Bonus points for tge person tgat knows the serial # range he inspected.
Interesting, I saw a very nice Special Model Colt M1861 wit his inspection mark on it. The owner thought it might have been spurious as he didn't know if Ainsworth had inspected those that and he thought it looked a little too crisp to his eyes..

Great Info here. Thanks
