Sir Joseph Whitworth died on the evening of Saturday 22 January 1887, aged 83, at Monte Carlo. He was buried on Wednesday 2 February 1887 in the churchyard of the 12th century St Helen's church at Darley Dale, Derbyshire. #onthisday

Whitworth, was far more than a gunmaker.
He was one of the men who advanced presision manufacter[ng and machine tools, to do it with

One day I would love to fire a Whitworth. I used to post here often I moved from Maryland to South Carolina. I am trying to remember those I used to correspond with. BTW this is Lee. I hope trust and pray all is well for everyone.
